Annie Nelson Rites Held At St. John Church
Mrs. Annie Nelson, 83, a resident of Thief River Falls since 1959, died Wednesday, August 8, at Northwestern hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Nelson were held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church with Rev. Paul Biegner officiating, Mrs. Sherman Idao served as organist and soloist. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery. The Green Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Honorary pallbearers were Kermit Maidment, Lawrence Philipp, E. H. Pomerenke, Vernon Kees, Henry Klockman and Lawrence Nelson. Active pallbearers were Donald Jorstad, Gary Lofgren, Timothy Olson, Donovan Weigel, Larry Hruby and Kevin Klockman. Mrs Nelson, the former Annie Lubitz, was born February 20, 1890 in Corliss Township, near Perham, to August and Frederika Lubitz, now deceased. She attended school in that community and was baptized and confirmed in the Corliss church. Prior to her marriage, she worked for a time in Minneapolis and at Fargo, North Dakota. On August 17, 1911, she was married to Oscar Nelson. The couple lived at Casselton, North Dakota, and Perham before moving to Marshall county where they farmed for a number of years. Since 1959, She had resided in Thief River Falls with the past four years being spent at Kees Rest Home. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and prior to moving here, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mavie. Surviving are seven daughters; Mrs Harold (Gladys) Jorstad, Mrs Jerome (Isabelle) Latta, Mrs Clifford (Helen) Olson, Mrs. A. B. (Violet) Weigel, Mrs Kenton (Fern) Liden, all of Thief River Falls, and Mrs. Stanley (Alice) Hruby and Mrs. Ralph (Lillian) Klockman, both of Goodrich. Also three sons; Alfred Nelson of Brainard, Curdis of Warroad and Elmer of Minneapolis, 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also two sisters: Mrs. Hattie Wanderi of Perham and Mrs. Augusta Holte of Fargo, North Dakota; and two brothers; Herman and William Lubitz, both of Perham. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 31, 1959, two grandsons, a great-grandchild and several brothers and sisters.

Oscar A. Nelson Succumbs; Rites Set For Tuesday
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3 at 1:30 p.m. for Oscar A. Nelson of Mavie Township who died Saturday morning, January 31 at Northwestern Hospital at the age of 78. The rites will be conducted at St. John's Lutheran Church by Rev. A. C. Seltz with interment to be in the Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state this evening, Monday, and at the church one hour before time of service. Arrangements are being made by the Gulbranson Funeral Home.

Oscar A. Nelson of Goodridge Is Interred February 3.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 3 at St. John's Lutheran church for Oscar A. Nelson of Goodridge, who passed away at Northwestern Hospital Saturday, January 31, at the age of 78. Officiating at the rites was Rev. A. C. Seltz with interment made in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Gulbranson Funeral Home. Oscar Nelson was born in Sweden in 1890 and came to Chicago at the age of 13, where he was employed for a number of years. On August 17, 1912, he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Lubitz. They lived at Casselton, North Dakota, and Perham, Minnesota, before moving to Marshall county. He farmed for 17 years, after which he operated a retail store before his retirement. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Mavie and was president of the board for a number of years. He was also a member of the school board and president of Germantown Mutual Telephone Company. Surviving are his wife, Annie, seven daughters and three sons; Mrs. Harold Jorstad, Mrs. Isabella Lofgren, Mrs. Clifford Olson; Mrs. Kenton Liden, all of this city; Mrs. Alfred Weigel; Mrs. Stanley Hruby; Mrs. Ralph Klockman of Goodridge; also Curtis of this city, Alfred of Brainerd, Elmer of Minneapolis; two brothers, four sisters and 27 grandchildren.
